We met with friends here recently and experienced a lovely meal and very good service. I had the fish pie, which was nice, but personally I found the lobster sauce a little overpowering the other fish tastes (scallops, cod).
Having said that, the sauce was very good - just a little strong. I would recommend this lovely pub, without hesitation, Hard to find parking, but I was told there was overflow parking down the road across the bridge. It's not too far away.

5 stars based on Food and drink. One of the best Sunday roasts we've had in a long time. fab selection of drinks, wine etc. Great decor, friendly staff and very clean. Would certainly recommend.
The only downside is parking, fairly small car park and when you come in a peak time there is very little chance to find a space, very narrow roads in the village so not much space to park elsewhere but hopefully you will as we did. other than that, we'll visit again when in the area for sure.

Beautiful cozy countryside pub right by the river with bedrooms above, perfect for a little getaway. Had a fantastic meal of lobster arancini and fillet steak cooked to perfection. Enjoyed our dinner inside by the fireplace, followed by some drinks in the outside area, which has plenty of heaters, fires and blankets to keep you warm during the colder months. The atmosphere and service were absolutely brilliant and the bedroom in the old part of the building was immaculately clean and charming.

We came here for a late Sunday roast and left extremely happy! We had a couple of meat roasts and a couple of veggie roasts, with some extra bits and everything was totally delicious. I loved their somewhat unique veggie roast - it was great to have something different and so so tasty and filling. The wine and puddings were also a hit. No long waits. Above all, it was so nice to have such lovely staff looking after us, I think our waitress was called Maisie. She was so attentive and friendly. This place is definitely on the favourites list. And the 'worth going to even when you shouldn't really be spending that money' list.

We use this established gastro pub for special occasions and we always feel happy to share great food and warm atmosphere with family and friends. The food is exquisite but do not shout, which is a mastery in itself. The balance of everything feels pleasant and comforting and the staffs' attentions to details are admirable. Thank you.

A bit of a last minute decision to eat out at lunch but very enjoyable. Both had the chicken and ham pie with mash and roasted carrots - lovely pie, good portion size (not too large), great gravy and well seasoned.
Sat next to the log fire - cosy.

Great helpful staff, took good care of us and really felt welcomed. Good food at decent prices. Had a few dishes off the menu and they tasted great. The pork sausages had a bit to much pepper but the pressed pheasant was wonderful.
Fast service when needed and they kept a close eye on us.

Lovely, homely pub which does amazing food and has incredibly attentive staff. Especially Molly and Erin who despite some other patrons disrespect they were swift, polite and professional the entire evening. Food came out in a timely manner too!
