Had first breakfast here, been in past for food with the good Mrs, need to bring her here for breakfast as she missed out, good pancakes with the loggers breakfast

Also since turn of the year, the restaurant has been taken over, hence the five star change in review, brilliant owners who have the enthusiasm to make this place really tick.... Spread the word this could be a great eatery and bar.
Consistent awesome food...... In the area there is nothing that beats this place in my opinion..... Happy to promote this place.

Well what can I say met by a lovely lady who explain the menu to us which was very nice of her friendly and bubbly we then ordered some drinks and thinking about what we wanted to eat so we ordered our food and oh my it was so beautiful presented absolutely brilliantly and managed to finish the plate but it was amazing so glad we went. Many thanks.

Before I moved to Retford from New Zealand, I found Dude Vs Food online and was intrigued. They didn't disappoint. It was exactly what i wanted, how i wanted it. Truly American in style, a large amount of food (you wont leave hungry), a great choice in sides (a good mac n cheese side is always good), AND they had the good old American chilli cheese fries, which i absolutely loved. (Im a chilli cheese fry feen) Great food, exactly as advertised. If you don't like fatty food, don't go here!

On another note customer service was A++++++++. It was amazing. We were never left wondering how the menu worked or what we could or couldn't order. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and just in general, they were lovely.

Thank you team! You were great :)

This place is excellent the food was fantastic the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. If it wasn't for the error on their system which caused a 20min delay to our order, it would have been great. They did give us, for the error, £10 off our bill. I also can't fault their honesty and guidance to help provide a gluten free option. They gave us £2 off for providing our own gluten free bun, I appreciate the willingness to accommodate. So close to perfect.

3 of us went, and when we made the booking we were told we had got the window seats. When we arrived we were told someone was just finishing up at our table and that we should sit in the booth and have a drink while they finished up. This was fine by us, we have all worked with the public and understand that sometimes things don't run how you want.

They took our drinks order, and our food order at the same time while we were waiting for our table. No sooner had the drinks arrived than the starters arrived as well. I had the pulled pork taco which was ok, the pork wasn't particularly spicy but it was nice.

As we were finishing our starter they came over and said that our table was ready. I've worked in a couple of restaurants and this for me broke a cardinal rule of any restaurant, once your diners have started eating don't move them. I didn't complain at the time, they were busy, it was a Friday evening. The seats they moved is to were in the middle of the restaurant, not the window seat as we were promised, so now they have moved us AND not given us the correct seat. Still I didn't complain.

For my main course I had the burger with pastrami and pickles. The burger was ok, the pickles were very nice, the pastrami was a bit lost in the burger, didn't really get the taste of it. The fully loaded fries were fantastic, best fries I'd had for a while, and the diced hotdog in them was a really nice touch.

My dessert was described as a waffle and ice cream stack. For me 2 waffles doesn't make a stack, it would need to be 3 minimum. The waffles were nice, as was the ice cream. Call it a waffle and ice cream sandwich and I would have no complaints.

On the whole I would eat here again. We drove 45 minutes especially to come here, I wouldn't do that again. In the same driving time I could get to Annie's Burger Shack in Nottingham or Meat Inc at Caenby Corner both of which present a similar style of food but in my opinion they both do it better

Waffles were inedible. Staff were extremely inexperienced. Every other thing on the menu was most probably ready frozen food or ready meals. Restaurants that doesn't have a real chef should be fined!
The two stars are only because the place was clean and well maintained.
