Also since turn of the year, the restaurant has been taken over, hence the five star change in review, brilliant owners who have the enthusiasm to make this place really tick.... Spread the word this could be a great eatery and bar.
Consistent awesome food...... In the area there is nothing that beats this place in my opinion..... Happy to promote this place.
On another note customer service was A++++++++. It was amazing. We were never left wondering how the menu worked or what we could or couldn't order. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and just in general, they were lovely.
Thank you team! You were great :)
They took our drinks order, and our food order at the same time while we were waiting for our table. No sooner had the drinks arrived than the starters arrived as well. I had the pulled pork taco which was ok, the pork wasn't particularly spicy but it was nice.
As we were finishing our starter they came over and said that our table was ready. I've worked in a couple of restaurants and this for me broke a cardinal rule of any restaurant, once your diners have started eating don't move them. I didn't complain at the time, they were busy, it was a Friday evening. The seats they moved is to were in the middle of the restaurant, not the window seat as we were promised, so now they have moved us AND not given us the correct seat. Still I didn't complain.
For my main course I had the burger with pastrami and pickles. The burger was ok, the pickles were very nice, the pastrami was a bit lost in the burger, didn't really get the taste of it. The fully loaded fries were fantastic, best fries I'd had for a while, and the diced hotdog in them was a really nice touch.
My dessert was described as a waffle and ice cream stack. For me 2 waffles doesn't make a stack, it would need to be 3 minimum. The waffles were nice, as was the ice cream. Call it a waffle and ice cream sandwich and I would have no complaints.
On the whole I would eat here again. We drove 45 minutes especially to come here, I wouldn't do that again. In the same driving time I could get to Annie's Burger Shack in Nottingham or Meat Inc at Caenby Corner both of which present a similar style of food but in my opinion they both do it better
The two stars are only because the place was clean and well maintained.
