We have now brought 3 bikes from Norwich Giant. Dealt with Adam who was knowledgeable, had time to talk and answered any questions. Made whole process so easy and reassured us we were buying correct bikes. After care was just as good. Highly recommended

New bike day here was a Great experience from start to collection. All the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. It’s no small purchase when buying a good spec EBike and was made enjoyable with no pressure, just great advice and friendly service. Can’t wait to get out on it, thanks for the bike. Over the moon is a understatement.

Had a platinum service on my tourer and they did a great job, they even fitted some brake blocks I had on order a week later free of charge. Only issue was the front derailleur cable was not routed correctly but was easy to fix myself. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for an issue with payment and they wouldn’t accept £20 notes as they weren’t the new ones (despite being legal tender until October 22). It took a call to their finance director to agree to accept the cash, so an unfortunate and embarrassing end to the experience. Having said they I wouldn’t hesitate to use Giant Norwich in the future.

Appauled by the service at Giant.

I have an Advance Defy 3, which has a Giant proprietary hydraulic brake system.

I've had two interactions with the service department about this system. The first was when a gasket needed replacing, I was told they had to replace the whole system and it would cost my around £200. I got the gasket replaced elsewhere, it cost very little.

Following the replacement of the gasket, the brakes required bleeding. Unfortunately, Giant don't make the tool required to do the job available to anyone other then their retailers, therefore I had to ask Giant to bled the brakes. I was told it would be around £75.

When I took the bike in, I was very specific, I only wanted the brakes bled, nothing else. Around an hour after dropping the bike off, I received a call to say they had done a quote for the work required, it would be £500.

I explained I only wanted the brakes bled and was told that would be fine. 15 minutes later I receive another call to say they won't do the work, unless I have the £500 of work completed as the bike was unsafe.

I understand service departments have an obligation to say whether they believe a bike is unsafe or not, but to refuse to do a sepcific piece of work unless you pay a lot of money for additional work, that you may not want doing seems totoally unreasonable.

Needless to say I didn't go ahead with the work at the Giant store due to the previous encounter. In fact I took the bike elsewhere, had the hydraulic brake system replaced by a mechanical system and the essential safety work completed for only £275. This will ensure I never have to be held to ransome by Giant and their proprietary braking system.

Two lessons learnt:

Never trust the service department at Giant, always check elsewhere

Never buy a bike where only the retailer has the tools to service it

Damaged my bike frame during a service! Please don't use them as I would hate for this to a happen to anybody else. Collected my bike and had large scratch across top of frame, had picture evidence of when I dropped it off to show it wasn't damaged before hand. Staff member just shrugged and said not my problem and management refusing to talk to me. Paid for a gear service and hard to tell anything had been done and devastated bike came back damaged. I really urge anyone thinking of getting a service to go elsewhere. I thought taking it to a giant store would of meant it was in good hands but clearly not. Poor service and damaged frame 0/10.

So, finally managed to clear enough space in my garage to unbox my new 2021 Giant Fathom 1 29er today which was puchased around 5 weeks ago.
I purchased and paid online 19th January 2021 and received confirmation email straight away explaining that due to covid delivery may be delayed up to two weeks which wasn't a problem as I wasn't really ready for it but with stock around the country running out fast I needed to get one bought.
The communication with the store was good and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Pleasantly surprised, (and a bit shocked), when it turned up just 2 days later.
Wow, looks even better than the pics on any website, a nice metallic grahite grey and a lot of spec for that price bracket.
Partially assembled in the box so literally just had to fit the front wheel and pedals. It didn't/doesn't come with any but I had already purchased some nice Shimano pedals.
First ride? Gear change is nice and precise, brakes will need a bit of bedding in but early signs are encouraging and dropper seat post is smooth. I did have to add air to both tyres and a bit to the front forks being a slightly bigger chap.
My only, very slight, critisism is the freewheel being a bit noisy as in you can hear the ratchet whereas my previous Giant Fathom was silent.
All in all a cracking bike and top quality service.
I will be using this store again for future purchases and am more than happy to recommend to others. They also stock a huge range of parts and accessories, I have already purchased a bottle cage and some different grips.

Originally found a bike online, contacted the Norwich store to inquire about purchasing through cycle to work scheme. Spoke to Jake at the store who was extremely helpful, and processed the sale within a few hours. Kept informed of the process, purchase through despatch at all times. Really could not fault this store, or the website, in a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to purchase the bike that you want, this was easy.
