I bought my e-bike here after a lot of research and deliberation. Jesse is so helpful, I had a few little test rides and was very excited to bring my new bike home. They worked out a great payment plan for me so it wasn't too much of a sting on my purse, and the price was such a good deal anyway. There were a few little teething issues with the bike and me asking questions...all dealt with in a very happy and patient manner. If you're up for buying yourself a new ride with added boost I can fully recommend 50cycles. In a central location and easy to get to means I can keep it serviced with no effort. The bike has given me more freedom and it's taken away a lot of pain issues. Bristol feels a lot less hilly all of a sudden :)

Did lots of research on all electric bikes - Kalkhoff kept coming up top each time. Went along to 50 Cycles Bristol store for a test ride. Anthony explained where the park was (two minutes away) and a quick run through of gears/settings etc and then told us to go and have fun! We certainly did, so much so that I bought a Pro Connect 9 which was delivered just three days later. The bike is just wonderful to ride. I find it beautifully balanced (even with a load of shopping on the back) Hills are no longer a daunting prospect for me (and my dodgy knees!) The battery life is amazing, even when generously using the top assist level on all the hills I have to negotiate to get home. The build quality is lovely, gear changes smooth, excellent lights. The only negative thing I can say is, be prepared to invest in some Sold Secure Gold standard locks (don't worry about the weight of them - no problem for this bike) as you certainly won't want to share your new pride and joy with anyone else.
Thank you 50 Cycles for all your help and advice!

These guys are awesome. A very positive experience from the outset. I was able to road test the bikes I was interested in over a period of few weeks. I questioned in detail both Anthony and Harry about the best type of bike for my specific commuting needs and they both patiently listened and helped me narrow down my choices. Ordering was a breeze and the bike arrived within 2 days. The quality of the bikes is very clear when you spend time riding them. I have visited the shop many times since my purchase for advice and coffee (thanks). I love my bike and the freedom it has given me. Thank you guys!

I brought my Kalkhoff ProConnect bike last autumn, and have so far really enjoyed the experience it has brought me. I live in a very rural area, on the edge of the cotswolds - and have to travel about 7 miles to work every day; however the huge hills involved make cycling with a normal bike an overly difficult and painful experience! My Kalkhoff has transformed the journey into an easy and enjoyable commute, and has allowed me to breeze up hills which would have otherwise been a bit too nasty to face on a normal road bike.

The customer service at the 50 Cycles store has been fantastic and professional - I have had a couple of minor mechanical issues with my bike which they have been able to sort out for me readily and are always happy to offer advice.

This shop sells brilliant bikes. I purchased a fantastic Kalkhoff electric bike, it's small-ish and incredibly efficient, riding it almost feels like flying. For local trips it's great as Bristol is so hilly - and we live at the top of the hill - and also for touring it's also really good, as it does great distances before needing charging, quite different from available battery power just a few years ago. I just love it! Thanks 50cycles for being so helpful.

After taking up the offer of test rides on a couple of the Kalkoff bikes at Bristol I cycled up the infamous Park Street in Bristol and the bikes made it so easy. Having thought long and hard and compared other brands, I have bought a Integrale 8 speed from 50cycles and any second thoughts about buying such an expensive bike have faded away, such is the quality of the bike and its amazing performance. The advice and after sales help from Anthony at Bristol has been excellent. After a month of cycling around Exeter, I am consciously finding reasons to get on the bike and use it instead of the car, so easy is the bike to use.

The bike: Having purchased a Kalkhoff Agutta at the beginning of September 2015 for my wife, I have just collected another Agutta for myself but through the cycle2work scheme. I have looked and test rode various pedlectric cycles both here and during a 3 week holiday in France.
This included both Yamaha & Bosch drive units but I found a noticeable difference with the Kalkhoff Impulse drive (sounds very Startrack) I find the gear change "snicks" quietly in place & is very smooth the bike feels solid & well finished.
The Kalkhoff ebikes are by no means cheap, but realistically quality never is. The fact that I have bought two bikes reflects the confidence I have in the bikes, I could have bought cheaper bikes but once I had my test ride I knew I would have regretted any decision not to have gone with the Kalkhoff.

The staff: Both of my purchases were handed by Anthony (store manager Bristol branch) right from my initial visit to look at, and test ride the bikes I felt at ease & no pressure was put on me to buy, in fact I was asked about what I thought the main use of the bike would be & Anthony explained the difference between the bike range. Once I narrowed my choice down I was offered a test ride, this was not a quick ride around the block but almost an hour long and included a ride up Park St (which is pretty steep)
Throughout the time from ordering through to my collection of the bikes I was kept updated by Anthony about progress, I can't fault the service I have received from the Bristol shop.
My advice to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a pedlectric bike is get yourself down to 50Cycles and test ride one and if you have tried others you will feel the Kalkhoff difference. Oh and when riding you will find yourself smiling a lot!

Purchased the premium i360 harmony with the Nuvinci Harmony Transmission. Terrible. Do not believe all the hype. Although you can climb hills it takes an awful lot of effort and the enjoyable electric bike experience is lost. Go for the geared bikes - there is no comparison. The after sales service is very poor. It took over 14 weeks to get a definitive answer to a straight forward question and the problem has not been resolved. If you do not live near a retail outlet it is very inconvenient trying to return the cycle and although the staff are helpful and sympathetic I felt the management were only covering ' their own backs'. A well made very expensive bike which is not delivering all that is promised. Be very wary.
