Never had such rude service, we were a group of 9 students having a Christmas meal, the waitress's seem to have an issue with us paying separately, if every other restaurant in the country can do it I think they can as well without sulking. One waitress actually bashed her head on the till right in front of us and bitched straight to her coworker about us whilst we were less than a metre away. It's not the first time we have received terrible service there and we definitely won't be going back.

Worst Sunday lunch I have had in a long time.
Very mean and stingy on meat portion. Which was just as well as it was all tasteless.
The veg and gravy was also bland and tasteless.
On a positive the staff were pleasant and atentative.
Definitely over priced for comparative local establishments.

Much better than experience than last month when breakfast was terrible. New kitchen manager was made aware and is learning.
Called again and breakfast absolutely terrible. Bacon like cardboard, fried eggs like rubber and sticking together, no scrambled egg. That could be why not many customers there apart from the group I was with.

Sunday lunch to take out under £10.
Generous size folding box provided and carton with lid for gravy. Your Choice of meat is served by staff then the rest of the box is filled by yourself with selection of veg of your own choice.. great!!

Usually go to the cockle shell but as we where down that end tried this one. Stood by front door for five minutes or so without even been acknowledged by staff. Guy who took us too our table was very miserable, we where told to go up and get food and then sat down with no cutlery as they had run out and had to wait for some to be washed. The cooks at the serving station seemed disinterested and the waitresses where bickering with each other which made us feel uncomfortable. On a high note the food was great and plenty of choice but I think we will be sticking to the cockel shell from know on.

Pub changing ownership the following week of visit, they had nothing on the menu apart from the carvery, which was to be frank piss poor! Shame as used to be a good pub with nice food on the regular menu as I would not normally submit to a 1970's carvery experience. Let's hope the. We chain that has bought the pub put it back to its former glory.
