More impressive than I thought it would be. Well worth a visit. Also great views of the broads and it’s free

Nice circular walk, with connecting other foot paths. There are information posts dotted around, making you aware of the history of the site. There are steps which take you to the estuary. There is a pay and display car park.

A Roman "Saxon Shore Fort". 3 walls still largely intact. A few good notice boards giving information. Free entry byt no facilities. Car parking a short easy walk. You can pay by card. Plenty of space. Some nice walks around the arwa and stunning views. The nearby church is lovely and used robbed stone from the fort in its construction.

Nice to see the tall walls are intact as many roman remains are just the footings. Its worth going down the steps on the right and along the boardwalk for a great view over the broads with two windmills. There is a walk up to the church and along to the fort, but the paths are wide and the signs mentioned accessible wheelchair gates being available. Parking was < £1.50 for a 2hr stay, with contactless payment available. You could also park by the church for a free day out, just probably not during services. Dog friendly and great place for a walk or picnic too (with a blanket).

Lovely place for a walk. More remains left from the Romans than I thought. You have some amazing views from up there as well. The footpath leads another 4.5 miles to great yarmouth.

Very cool fort and there's st Peter's and Paul's church down the road made of remains from the wall. Parking is quite accessible and it's a short walk to the fort, it's huge, well looked after and a great visit with lovely views it's just a shame that there aren't any activities or museums on site as that would add alot rather than just a couple small signs

Another hidden place, not for wheelchair users I am afraid.

You can gain access to this from two directions, both via fields.

No formal pathway to it.

It's simply a square Ronan wall, which is an indication of where the original fort would have been.

It's incredibly just how thick these walls actually were. Solid defenses.

Good to protect our British heritage. Also good to find something free to view!

Ideal ruin to explore and walk round. Certainly you can see from it's position why it was built there. Strategic with good views of the surrounding broads and local windmills on the horizon add to the attraction. Also ideal and unusual place to have a picnic which many people were doing whilst visiting. Looking forward to returning soon.
