I am having the EXACT same issue as Matt has mentioned below from a year ago.

Contact lenses have not arrived the date they said they would, nor have they arrived over a week later. Asked them to contact me when they are available as since we have moved offices I am located much further away and it will be difficult to come in to collect my lenses.

Over a week later again I have heard nothing and am completely unable to contact anyone in the store via the phone. Calling the Optician department actually cuts off after one ring. Other departments ring non-stop for about 3 minutes before cutting off.

Actually considering calling head office and complaining, its ridiculous that I am unable to get through to ANYONE in the store via the phone.

Have ordered specs from here before and was delighted with the service. Just tried to book 2 appointments for a eye test. Was told the soonest available is in 2 weeks time. Man on 'phone was very helpful and polite and I understand it is not his fault. I would think there is a backlog and possible increased demand due to Lockdown etc., but I then phoned Specsavers and they can test me in 2 days time. Come on Boots - if they can do it, then you need to be able to it. Wanted to stay with you, but my need is now urgent.

Perfect Customer Service.
I always have my eyes tested here and have always been happy.

I recently went in as I’d lost my varifocals and wanted to replace them. When they arrived I went away and just couldn’t get on with them.

So I went back and I was served by Annie. I told her my issues and she spent a lot of time troubleshooting with me and eventually finding a solution. She was so kind and patient and determined to find the best way forward.

I went in and saw Annie again this evening to collect my new glasses and so far they are fine!

I've been backwards and forwards with my glasses, staff seem pleasant enough just couldn't fit my frames.

Update..... I went back today and saw a lady called Sue, she managed to get them to fit right by taking her time to adjust them.
Thank you so much I had literally started to feel like my only option was to get some new frames. Just hope they they don't start to slide off as they loosen but will wait and see. Thanks Sue.

Bought a pair of off the peg glasses here prior to coming on hol. Day 1 of the hol and one arm has fallen off. Can’t fit the pin back - what rubbish! So so annoyed, am in a place in Greece that doesn’t sell glasses. Can’t use them even to read Rubbish Boots! I’ll go to my local chemist next time and pay £5.

I would give 0 stars if I could! Extremely disappointed cannot get through by telephone despite numerous attempts at calling them. Booked my appt months in advance and they cancelled it just hours before due to them only having one optometrist who was "isolating". After speaking to a manager and making a complaint I managed to secure an appt the following week optometrist herself was good.

A family members appt also booked well in advance some weeks since has been cancelled a day before for the same reason. Told that they are fully booked and cannot offer appts for another 4 weeks!

Would not recommend, go elsewhere!

Appalling service from Boots opticians st Fosse Park. No one ever answers the phone. I’ve rung and rung but they just cut you off. Why am I paying hundreds of pounds a year for such poor service? Not anymore. What do they say? ‘You should have gone to Specsavers’ if I could give no stars - I would

Staff & team are excellent and very professional & kind. Unfortunately the let down is you can never get through to opticians over the phone for appointments or emergencies. You have to try the pharmacy or someone else when they answer, and they have to take a note of your details and pass them on
