I am stunned by the poor reviews. I have recently changed to this surgery and have had nothing but postivie interactions. The receptionists are lovely, which is a breath of fresh air as the ones in my previous practice seemed to go out of their way to make things difficult. The doctors are attentive and have put me forward for more tests in a few short weeks then my previous surgery did in years. The nurse (I forget her name, but she has curly brown blonde hair, in a bun and a few ear piercings in her right ear) was so lovely and chatty and really made me feel like she loves what she does. Very good srugery who deserve a shout out in these busy and uncertain times! Thank you.

Dr Ahmed, completely useless. Have been asking her for a referral to a dermatologist for over a week now and have been chasing the surgery on a daily basis since last Friday. In the meantime my rush is getting worse while I wait for Dr Ahmed to do her job. Receptionist found out that there are not notes in my records of the referral request. Receptionists Hazel and Tracy were very helpful. Shame about having a useless doctor who does NOT care about her patients!!! This is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety as I can see that while I wait for this referral, my condition is worsening every day. I will be making a formal complaint about this doctor.

Having belonged to this surgery for many years I wanted to say what a wonderful change. Hazel and Liz are amazing reception staff. Being kind thoughtful and supportive. The doctors whom have looked after me over the past months have made me feel so much better. Never making me feel like a number. Then the nurses. I am one tricky customer. Not once have I been hurt. Linda has got to know me and I wanted a big well done shoutout to you all 🤩

On hold for 1 hour for an emergency prescription. Never had this problem before the big company took the surgery over. Automated service said I was caller number 5. I feel sorry for Reception who probably have to deal with lots of abuse.
Even managed to speak to 111 within 10 minutes, while still on hold!

3 year old daughter clearly needed medical attention. For nowhere near the first time, On the phone 40 min to Beggarwood, only to make it from 7th in queue to 4th, and give up. Drove to practice, who took a glance at her and sent us away by receptionist to check with pharmacist first. Drove to Pharmacist who told me there’s nothing they can give a 3 year old and she needed a gp, which practice should have known. Drove back to practice who got me on triage list. Spoke to gp on phone after sending photos, who said needed to see her at another practice, so drove there. After long wait to speak to receptionist and another long wait in waiting room, spoke to different doctor who was unaware of photos, or any of the information I had already passed on. Just a mess.

Many of my work colleagues have complained about how long they have to wait to get through to their doctors surgeries in Basingstoke. Until now,I’ve always said we don’t have that issue at Beggarwood, it’s brilliant.

OMG , what has happened to our great surgery??First time I called 54 minutes . Had call again 2 days later, I called at 11.33am waited 30mins before having to hang up!! I was 3rd in the queue for 20 mins. Then called again and waited 15 mins. Seriously, it’s a mess and unacceptable!!!

Who in their right mind thought this new phone system was a good idea?

If you didn’t have blood pressure before calling, you will definitely have it after trying to contact the surgery.

It really was such a great surgery to be proud of. Unfortunately it will get an awful reputation just like all the other badly managed surgeries.

Such a shame.

Poor service. Still. They've joined up with two other surgery's . This was because they were rated so bad. They had to be taken over . I wasnt offered a COVID extra booster or a flu jab . Had to organise it myself . They did remind me of diabetic test and blood pressure needed . Improved there. Had problems with prescriptions . Comms between them and rooksdown pharmacy. We don't know who the Drs are . It's improved though. Very slightly

Reception has got better, yet still takes at least 20 mins to get call answered-If ever! Am sad that Beggarwood surgery was excellent years ago when Dr Church ran it-I actually got problems sorted.. Now the problems just linger to no avail..really dissapointing..Have given up trying to get help..
