Had a house measured up for a quote, there is currently 66sqm of flooring at the house. They say I need to order 76sqm?? Why would I need 10sqm of wastage? The carpet I wanted even said on the label it could be fitted any way so no need to run the pile the same way. They are also trying to charge me for all new carpet gripper because it's a thick carpet??. Apparently I need a certain size gripper for an average carpet.. lies! Carpet gripper is all the same height just different lengths!!
I am shocked at the blatant attempt to rip customers off. For 66sqm the carpet should total £1300. They want £2600 plus vat and £29.99 delivery. This is disgusting! Even if I had bought the extra 10sqm wastage they say I need it would total £1500. So what the hello is the extra £1100 they are attempting to charge me?? All of the price included me providing my OWN underlay. I've never met such a con artist company!! Dont waste ur money and avoid carpet right Winchester like the plague!!!
The people at the store are fine. They seem to have no interest in ensuring the carpets are fitted once you have bought them, but they seem nice, if clueless, when you call. Our fitters were meant to come yesterday, and didn't. When I called carpetright this morning they said that they would be right on it, and call me straight back. 5 hours later, having heard nothing back, and called to no answer, I go to the store, to be told they have absolutely no idea where the fitters are and can't get hold of them. They do not know when, if ever, they will fit the carpet.
It didn't seem like this was an uncommon occurrence from the matter of fact response "probably not today", when asked when they would come.
Having waited around a month and a half for the booking slot, and taken all the furniture out of the rooms for the fitting, I would say these people are wasting your time. I’ve got a bookcase stacked on top of a chest of draws in a bathroom for no reason now, and its not clear to me whether or not it should stay there, as I’ve no idea when these people intend to finish their work...
Take your business somewhere else, this place isn't worth the hassle.
Customer service is USELESS. All they do is send emails which get nowhere. They can't seem to hold onto a manager at Winchester.. I'm not surprised, I would be embarrassed to work there.
They can't seem to sort a very simple issue. Find the floor, deliver it, get a fitter to fit it. It's not rocket science but for carpet right it's impossible.
You have been warned!
Go somewhere else for carpet or laminate floor. Carpet right are not capable.
Our carpet has had to be fitted in 3 separate batches, weeks apart due to faults in the carpet, wrong measurements, lack of delivery drivers and carpets not being ordered in a timely manner.
Our carpet was first fitted a month ago and we're still awaiting a date for it to be finished. It was supposed to take 2 days...
We have visited the store and made phone calls on many occasions to resolve the installation dates and we're regularly told that the carpet will be ordered, or we will get a call back to arrange dates etc. but it doesn't seem to happen.
We won't use Carpetright again.
Update, my 70 year old mum's carpet was laid the week before Christmas...order was placed on 31st July. No accoubtability, no responsibility taken, no support, even when an official complaint was made, no one bothers to contact her.
Our initial order was incorrectly placed by an employee - mistakes happen.
I expected the order to be rectified, managed through their system, and for me to be provided with updates.
Approx. 2 weeks from rejecting the carpet, I've heard nothing, nor has my mum (and hers is being treated as VIP!). I have no faith that the order has gone through. I've received no confirmation, no order number, no phone call, nothing.
I left a voicemail first thing, still awaiting a call back 2 hours later.
Will never shop here again or recommend this shop.
My carpet was supposed to be installed 2 months ago, but the measurements that were taken by Carpetright were wrong and so new carpet had to be ordered. I am still waiting for a date of when my carpet will be delivered, let alone fitted.
I cannot express the incompetence of this store. Its very worrying how badly they can get it wrong.
