I've been to this small community hospital a few times now. The waiting time isn't long at all, but if it's anything worse than being able to bandage a cut, they will send you to Wrexham. The first time I went was when my brother cut his tongue open. He was sent to Wrexham for stitches but although I was only around 8 years old, the nurses were friendly and were offering us biscuits and orange juice. The second time was also my brothers injury. He had fallen off his scooter and they sent him to Wrexham as well. I fainted in the room and they were very good, put a pillow under my head and gave me oxygen. I've been there a few times myself for a sprained wrist and cut hand and they were pretty good. I also go for my blood tests and as I am a 'fainter', the nurses were showing me pictures of animals to ease my nerves. It didn't quite work, but the thought was there. Overall it's a good and vital service that they offer. I wouldn't want to see it go as it's very handy with lovely staff and good facilities.

Over the years I've been here for quite various reasons, X-rays, Physio sessions, blood tests, light treatments and of course, visiting other patients. Now, on every occasion the whole experience has been very good. The staff are very helpful and clearly proud of their little hospital.
Thank you.

If you have an emergency go to Holliwell not Mold. I had a very badly cut hand that needed immediate treatment. They wouldn’t even look at it because they said they had enough patient to last until they closed. This was at 1530!!! Not all nurses are caring.

My father was transferred to Mold from Wrexham Maelor for rehab just before Christmas following a fall. The care he has received there has been first class. The nursing staff (covering all grades) were all very friendly and helpful and looked after him extremely well. The family is not local to Mold and he was given access to their mobile ward phone whenever he wanted to speak to us, nothing was too much trouble.
A doctor there also picked up that he was on an unnecessary high dosage of blood pressure medication which hadn't been identified by his GP or the Maelor (this answers a lot of questions regarding his previous declining health). He wouldn't agree for him to be discharged until he brought his blood pressure up to the right levels and has adjusted his medication going forward, accordingly.
The physio team there are very professional and provided encouragement/support. A referral was made following his discharge this week for further community support at home.
Although we were unable to see him on a daily basis during the 3 weeks he was there, we felt safe in the knowledge he was in a caring environment and being properly looked after.
