The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the city centre. It is a very old house with a character. The rooms are a bit small and the staircase narrow as you would expect from an old house. There are a couple of basic things missing that could easily be improved (like providing toiletry), but the hosts are really nice and they make a good breakfast too. Considering the low cost I would say it is good value overall.

The hotel itself dates from 1604 so was charming from an architecture standpoint. This meant, however, that one of the two large windows was in the bathroom so everyone on the street could see in. We stayed two nights and I thought I would pop down to the bar for a nightcap but nobody at all was there. The breakfast was a typical fry-up with a generous portion but the tables were not cleared so when we sat down someone else's breakfast left-overs were still there. The staff all smoked heavily - sorry, but that puts me off. To their credit, they were friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean but the "car park" was filthy with litter including a soiled nappy.

Nice old building. Rooms were awful. Stains all on the ceiling and uo the walls, cobwebs everywhere. Bed wasn't comfortable at all. Was hard and only had one pillow. Housekeeping never replaced our cups and mugs with clean ones or new coffee sachets. I work in house keeping so know that clean cups and mugs are a must. Heating was on in our room so it was unbearably hot. However the breakfast was lovely and the staff members were very friendly.

Me and my partner stayed here last weekend. All the staff are very friendly.. breakfast was nice... but there is some thing wrong. Need more pillows. Need a hair dryer and need to get some blankets. But overall lovely place. We going to book again for next year.

Nice staff and room was clean with hot water. The room was dated though and needs refreshing. Also I couldn't turn the heating down as there's no knobs on the radiators. Could do with some complimentary soaps as I'd forgot mine.

Charming 400 year old old building. Nice rooms. A good bed, a great shower and a TV to watch with a nice cup of tea/coffee all provided, with a good breakfast of choice. Really nice place that is quiet and kept pretty clean by lovely staff.

I don't think we would return ever again, we didn't feel welcome from beginning till we left, didn't feel safe on the ground floor with single pane windows. Customer service was poor, we checked out over the phone which was at the 'reception' window.

The room was confusing, it felt like a Spanish 2 star hotel from the 80's but the en suite was from the nightclub in the 90's.

Can safely say it was our first and last stay .

A hotel that they claim is over 400 years old and from the state of it, not hard to believe. Even though work has been done to bring it up to modern standards whilst trying to keep the old look it still needs more work done on it. We had been upgraded to one of the family rooms which contained a single and double bed. The double bed looked like it was a foldable couch with a thin mattress on top which led to an uncomfortable nights sleep for me. No bedside lamps so we used the bathroom light as the main lights were just too bright. A net curtain was used in the bathroom window which wouldn't hide you at night when the light was on. The shower attachment was missing and the hot water tap in the sink was loose. Wifi signal was decent enough from the room. This hotel is only worth staying at due to its location to the centre of town.
