We went to Cringletie for the high tea on a Friday afternoon. We were a large group and were able to sit at one table. The start to the tea was good, we all got our selections. The food was brought promptly. The rest of the dining room was empty, not even one guest was around. After we got our food the staff disappeared and were nowhere to be found. We needed water glasses topped up, more tea, more how water but no staff came to check on us. What was everyone doing? There were no other guests at the property. The food was delicious but the service needs much to be desired. The grounds are amazing and beautifully kept.

Fantastic hotel in tranquil surroundings in the Scottish Borders. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, food is superb and staff all excellent.

This was a beautiful estate with warm and friendly staff. Good food. Great location. The entire property was gorgeous and well maintained. Highly recommended!

Was the absolute perfect elopement wedding venue. The location and the House are just picture perfect, it is wonderfully grand but friendly and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally well trained and not a detail was missed, they appeared the second you even thought you might need something, then vanished quietly away! We were treated like Royalty, nothing was too much trouble and the food was just exceptional. I cannot praise this hotel enough, we have already booked to return and I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

While a stay at Cringletie isn't inexpensive, it's worth it. The ambience, the food, the comfort, the friendly staff, the personal supervision of the owners all combine to make every stay memorable. Highly recommended!

From the second we arrived it was perfect. The welcome, the service, the attention to detail, to them being there when yiu needed them and not being there when you didn't. Absolute quality. Perfect.

Wonderful short stay for a birthday celebration. The hotel is (very) dog friendly with treats in the room and a dog bed. We enjoyed a great dining experience with white glove service and great food. Breakfast was wonderful too. You learn about service level when a problem arises as we didn’t have water during our stay as the pipes were frozen. The Cringletie apologised and waived part of the final bill. Great attitude from wonderful staff and we will certainly be back albeit in summer.
