A really nice and well organised store. My sight test was so beneficial. Nish explained everything to me and was so patient and professional. I understood some of the terms for the first time ever. Great choice of specs too, I would definitely go there again, thanks

I was a customer for years. The last two times I visited I dealt with the same rude person.

First time was during the height of the pandemic. I tried to change my booking as I didn't want to visit as my wife was about two weeks from her due date.
The last thing I wanted was to catch covid and not be able to go to the hospital with her.
I explained this and he actually laughed at me... Nice.
Thankfully a women came and took over and was very helpful.

Second time I wanted to book a test and said I needed it after 1600 as I'm at work. He said he could do 1500.
I replied that's not suitable and he shrugged his shoulders and said what do you want me to do about it?

Decided after that to cancel my contact lens subscription and take it else where.

Where do I begin!
First appointment for an eye test I arrived at my scheduled time, was greeted and asked to take a seat which was a great start.
After one hour I gave up waiting for my eye test and asked to be let out so I could leave.
Fast forward 2 months and I rebook for an eye test, I knew my current glasses weren’t strong enough and needed a test. Spec savers are convenient to my work so booked again.
This time time eye test went fine, all done in 40 minutes which was excellent.
After being stood around for 15 minutes someone came to discuss frames. I asked about contact lenses and booked an appointment for the following week then left with my appointment card.
Fast forward one week, I arrive for my appointment to be told there is no appointment and it was never made !
At this point I’ve decided to give up and that it would be wise to go elsewhere.

Originally I gave 5 stars as all my tests were fantastic, since then it's all downhill. I paid for contact lenses only to be told one set weren't available and they would be posted out to me by the end of the week, not received so called back and was told a few days. Fast forward over 2 weeks and 3 calls still not available. I also asked for my prescription posting out to me as I was not given it. I now have to go on holiday with no contacts. I feel so let down and feel iwill have to go elsewhere.

Had my first ever pair of glasses from here. Helpful friendly service especially Chris the optician who was in my opinion exceptional throughout the whole process explaining everything thoroughly through to the type of glasses to suit me.

Had a really bad experience when I went for my eye test. Made a complaint. But nothing done. But even worse now I have my glasses.
I cannot see my computer screen clearly or my 2nd screen is really blurry. They say they cannot do anything for at least for a week. Really not impressed. Avoid Honiton

Please avoid avoid avoid! Went to have my eyesight checked, the first part was fine, then it all went down hill. The optician told me to read the letter chart, I told her I could read the top line ,but she needed to adjust the monitor because all the letters were cut in half, after 2 minutes of trying to sort the monitor and nothing has changed, she told me to "do it anyway". So after what I felt was a half asked test, I was told I needed glasses. I asked how much a typical pair were, and I was told around £70-£80, to which I replied I don't have the money right now and will have to come back. Apparently that wasn't an option and I wasn't allowed to leave without buying glasses I was told because I drove I HAD to buy a pair. I also asked if I could wear contact lenses and apparently that was another no. So she took me over to look at their range of glasses, and I said I didn't like any of them because I work in construction I wanted a safety glasses style of prescription glasses, again I was made to feel I wasn't allowed to leave without buying a pair so I chose the cheapest pair for £15.

After speaking to loads of friends and family they all agreed and we're outraged by my experience at Honiton Specsavers wasn't right at all. And after they made out my eyesight was awful, which it's not, after making me go into my overdraft, when you should be able to CHOOSE who you buy glasses from.

After looking into Specsavers and finding out they are a franchise, it all made sense. They just wanted to flog me some glasses. If they can intimidate someone in their late 20's god knows what they're doing to the elderly. Awful experience one star is too good for them!

I replaced broken frames from the NHS and was given excellent advice on the best bargains resulting in 3 pairs purchased at very competitive prices. The staff are polite, patient, informative, kind and well versed in budget purchases which is essential during the cost of living prices. This shop has a wheelchair accessible toilet so 5 ⭐s for inclusivity. With thanks ~
