Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Croydon North End

The service could be better, no organisation and communication. The staff is walking around like chicken. When they notice you it is going better,but sometimes you have to wait a few minutes (even 30 minutes) for it.
The staff is polite.
We were there 3 times.

I had an eye appointment and purchased glasses from this location, and it was mostly a good experience.

It is a convenient location in central Croydon and was easy to book an appointment online, and to cancel/change it when something came up last minute.

The main annoyance was that the appointment was midday Sunday, and though the few initial pretest items for the appointment were on time, I had to then wait 80 minutes to see the optometrist. After then spending 10 minutes choosing frames, it took another 10-20 to actually see someone to pay and leave, so I was there for almost 2.5 hours.

Pick-up was much easier, as after the week it took to create, I walked in, saw someone immediately, fitted them and left in under 5 minutes.

Both times, the staff was friendly, and it was fairly good pricing (especially with the glasses sale underway), but the longer wait the first time was a little off-putting.

I have to be honest, I was very sceptical about going to specsavers but I decided to give them a go after years of going to an independent opticians. I was extremely happy with the service, the glasses and the value for money! Although it was very busy when I went for my sight test and when I went to collect my glasses, the service and care was excellent. The dispenser who served me when collecting my glasses was fantastic! My glasses didn't feel quite right and although I said I would take them away and try to get used to them, he just had them sent back and fixed. I felt all the staff knew that they were doing and it was the cheapest pair of designer glasses I have bought in years! Very happy customer 😀

My experience during my appointment was good, but when I collected my glasses I was not very happy, I had bought 2 pairs of glasses one just for reading specsavers brand and the other Karen Millen, they didn't have the proper case and gave me a hugo boss, my glasses don't even fit properly in the box. When I asked if they would have the Karen Millen case so I could pick up another time they didn't even reply to my question. Its a minor thing but I would like to have what I paid for.

Had appointment for 12:00, wasn’t seen till 12:30. Was not explained that on top of my £25 eye test I’m buying an additional test for an extra £10. Staff did not make it obvious and the optician only asked how much I was charged.

Happy with the service but staff should be aware that Croydon is diverse and has many nationalities with may be not easy to pronounce names. They should at least try to read and pronounce before they call out the patient and make fun of their names and embarrass themselves. Its disrespectful and unprofessional.

Having had what I would call ordinary customer service in the past with this store. I visited just before Christmas and was served by the new store manager - Akshay and this the main reason for me wanting to write this review.

I found Akshay to be very professional in the way he listen to me to recommend the right kind of glasses for my needs - in my case glasses with "occupational lenses" something I have never heard of before - and I have 4 pairs of glasses already.

Akshay customized the lenses for my needs, and having got my new glasses, Wow! what a difference it has made. I now enjoy wearing my glasses, Occupational pair is are perfect for computer work and the wider varifocal makes it so much easier to wear.

I can honestly say, if it wasn't for Akshay and the time he spent to find out what glasses I needed, I may still be trying to wear and get used to glasses that doesn't fit my needs. So a big thank you and my appreciation to Akshay.

I would also like to extend my thanks to Kash, a member of Akshay's team who did the final fit and check of my glasses. Kash was very thorough and professional and made sure I was completely happy with my glasses before leaving the store.

They are local opticians they look after me well and greeting me because knowing me as a customer they care about my eyes and looking after is great
