This review is about the Royal Mail post pillar box in the St Stephens area of St Albans on Abbey Avenue outside Westfields News newsagents and Post Office.
I see the Post Office itself is getting some very poor reviews. Well, nothing wrong with this post box and it looks very smart in its new coat of red paint.
This one has been designated as an NHS Priority Postbox during the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Absolutely terrible customer service. The female shop owner is very rude and hostile. Clearly no longer wants to run a local post office and should move on. Shops like these should serve the local community and welcome customers but instead they are making people feel unwelcome. I will personally never shop there again.

I feel this is an incredibly unsafe environment - I spoke to the regular male shop keeper regarding an incident in which he allegedly threatened to physically assault a member of my family, who is a physically vulnerable senior citizen.

My family member will now have to travel to further any stores and post offices in future as he feels unsafe in the Abbey Avenue store.

I intended to have a constructive conversation with the shop keeper regarding the incident however the shop keeper was rude, condescending and dismissive towards me, refusing to engage in a calm conversation.

Throughout the conversation the shop keeper continued to be incredibly impolite, patronising and dismissive in response to me. The shop keeper spoke loudly over me while I was talking, leaving me unable to finish speaking.

The shop keeper was unresponsive to an attempted productive, polite and calm conversation. As said, he interrupted me consistently and spoke over anything I attempted to communicate.

He was extremely condescending and dismissive whenever I referenced the fact that a member of the local community had been made to feel unsafe due to his alleged actions.

Awful service and rude shop keeper. I left the store , without buying anything. Do avoid at all costs. There is a post office/convenience store in Watford Road, which provides excellent service.
