This surgery is a disaster. Mismanagement, staff rudeness and terrible patient care is the norm.

My daughter had a significant infection on her leg following an insect bite. She got a callback from a Nurse (called Lina) who told my daughter to visit a chemist - the chemist she visited couldn’t believe this was the advice provided given the significant infection. He told her she needs to see a GP urgently.

Then, my daughter phoned the Surgery back and the receptionist (called Kate) was extremely rude and unhelpful, as usual.

Dr Stanley called back and thankfully sorted everything, prescribing antibiotics. However, the whole experience with triage and very poor advice from a nurse did not make for a good experience.

My husband ruptured a bicep 8 weeks ago, fought for an appointment with gp, who agreed he needed hospital consultation, but has heard nothing since. This morning (Aug 18th), he called the surgery for advice, but was told there was no available appointments for gp for the foreseeable future. The surgery is a waste of time.

The worst practice I have been too/heard of. For years I’ve had problems trying to get an appointment with my GP, let alone a nurse. The staff speak to you with disrespect, lack of empathy and can, at times, be rude. I have sent emails complaining about the service provided - barley ever hear back and when I do, they don’t do anything about it. I also suffer with anxiety and it has been a battle getting an appointment at the right time. I recently was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis and I have been advised by a consultant to go back on the contraceptive pill. I called this morning and as always, I’m told that spaces are held for emergencies only. Isn’t that what 111 and 999 are for? It is ridiculous! I managed to land myself a call back, but is it right to have to argue this with someone? Let’s see if they even call as I have been told they would in the past and sometimes, they don’t bother! I’m sick of how dreadful the service and care for patients is at this practice. It costs nothing to be a kind, caring, empathetic human being and unfortunately, there are very few receptionists who are capable of this. If you can avoid it, I would suggest finding an alternative GP practice if you are considering this one.

I requested pain relief for ongoing problems, pain relief I have had before, to be told my request had been declined by 'the prescribing team' whoever they are!! I was then told to book a telephone consultation with my GP. She was not available on her day of consultations as she is the duty doctor on call. Told I would get a call from the physio dept. Never got a call , I have now had 2 telephone consultations with physics, still no pain relief. I have now been given a review consultation with another GP in 2 weeks time!!! Do I have to go crawling on my knees to get the help I am requesting? I can see a nurse face to face, why not my GP, oh yes, because she only works 2 days a week now

Can't see a doctor at all. Receptionists are rude and intrusive. Spent half an hour trying to get through just to be hung up on. Called again and after another half an hour I was told it wasn't urgent enough and to use an online service. Should also be having monthly check ins about my medication but not heard from them in 4 years now.

Shocking rude, Practice managers are so unprofessional. Used to be a great doctors, but now your fobbed off with pharmacists, can’t see a doctor face to face unless you complain and then your treated shockingly and also put on report !. Never the same since Dr Tim Wright left.

Awful service. Receptionist staff are extremely rude and unsympathetic. The staff don't take responsibility for their own mistakes or the practices mistakes resulting in delayed treatment. Their lack of online system means that when there is an issue, you cannot get in touch and speak to the right people to help fix it. The only way to get in touch is by phone and after you've waited an hour in their phone queue and been passed to various people, you then get hung up on and the only thing you can do is phone again. The issue isn't even a mistake on my part, it is theirs or their online system recording incorrect details and it is impossible for me to be able to get through to someone who cares and who has the ability to resolve it, and now because of their poorly trained receptionist staff, treatment has been non existent resulting in having to call 111 or visit A&E when this would have all been avoided. If you are unlucky enough to have any kind of technical issue with your details on their system then unfortunately nobody will care enough to be able to help as they are over run with patients and they cannot wait to kick you off their GP list.

This surgery has had times over the new year and January where there are zero doctors due to sickness. Wait time are 8-9am most days on the phone. I have had no success in being seen since last Summer and not has my toddler. We believe from other locals that other surgeries are less effected than oaks.
