A field clinic in a run down third world country is better staffed than this place. If you have the option of any A&E in London, avoid this hospital by all means. It's understaffed, with A&E wait times of over 10hours. The lone on-call GP at the URGENT care reception is averaging one patient per 28mins. Yes, it's a saturday and there's only ONE Dr on call. You can die in the waiting area and no one will even notice. Would love to do a FOI on what the management in this hospital are being paid for doing such a horrendously disastrous job. Enough is enough!
p.s. the board says waiting times of 6 hours because they're hoping out of the list of 25ppl, 13 ppl leave. When was the last time this hospital's statistics were audited?

Amazing hospital and staff! If your problem is health critical then you are treated as a priority! If less so then you will have to wait. Often test have to be done and these take time. I have had excellent health care from Kings! If you go in expecting speedy service, then don't! It's not a private health provider - it's as it's said : Accident and Emergency!

I also have a negative experience with A&E and strongly advise to avoid it. I was waiting in “urgent” care for 7 hours. I was bleeding for 8 hours and I flagged it few times that my bleeding is not stopping and that I fainted prior coming to the hospital. I haven’t eaten anything as I was waiting for hours and didn’t know when it’s suitable to leave. Doctor was nice and I really respect her work but I’m not gonna lie, I had issues with understanding her due to her English and I don’t think she understood me either as she didn’t really answer my questions, and those questions were really important for me to be answered. I do give 1 star more as I did get injection and antibiotics for free and I know they all were sorry for the wait time but whoever is in charge of this, people can potentially die for the sake of this insane organisation. How can you have 1 doctor at a ward like this? Truly don’t understand it but well…

Terrible. In Italy I thought that they cared for my father but when he was sent home by private ambulance at the age of 86, I noticed he had no medication. I think had to travel back to the hospital the next day and wait 2 hours to get this. The doctor who looked after him didn’t even explain what his issue was. They inserted a cathetier and we were told it needed to be removed 7 days later. 3 weeks on and 2 trips to the hospital dad still hasn’t had it out. They have still not sent notes to his doctor and he has been in pain. Be careful when leaving elderly in the care of doctors and. Irises as they cannot speak for themselves. Due to this neglect I may have to phone for an ambulance and go through the the whole A&E journey again. This could have been avoided had the notes that they should have sent two weeks ago had been sent to the community nurse

Unless it's a life and death situation, DO NOT GO TO THE A&E OF THIS HOSPITAL. I felt down the stairs and broke my leg and, to start with, they didn't have any wheelchairs (I met another lovely girl who fractured her hip and was also told that they had no wheelchairs available at A&E). I waited for 5 hours to be seen by a nurse who told me the completely opposite to what the nurse that saw me the next time I was there said. I know somebody that works there at night and he's told me it literally looks abandoned and practitioners would Google the symptoms of the patients because they simply don't know and there's nobody else they can refer to. When I finally saw an orthopedic doctor 5 days later, oh well, wasn't I in for a treat! I told him that the metal bars in my sling were poking out and he told me that if I didn't want to wear it, that was my choice. I obviously said that it wasn't that at all and it may have been that this particular sling wasn't working properly and he told me that if I was worried the bars would dig in my flesh, I should know that no method was perfect, that casts present other issues as well and that it was normal it felt uncomfortable. He contradicted everything that I had been told at A&E and he said that they knew nothing and again, it was up to me who I wanted to listen to, them or him who was the specialist. It was probably the worst and most bizarre doctor's appointment I have ever had, he would even pull faces every time I asked or said something. It was pretty clear to me that he may have been battling with his own medical condition which is what's likely to make him have that type of behaviour, but if I had known before, I would have saved myself the countless hours that I waited in that hospital receiving barely any help.

I turned up having to drive over an hour to get my son tongue tie sorted. I arrive as per instructions and am not familiar with the area, this hospital had zero car parking facilities near where we went. Bear in mind I have a 5 week year old, his mum who's still recovering from an infection due to pregnancy and a stroller, bassinet and all his stuff. I'm carrying it all, no problem but no where to park. I cannot be driving around hoping to find somewhere to park when my appointment is due soon. So find myself parking in the permit only bays outside the building we had our appointment.

Staff were great, very professional and brilliant but I think it's a disgrace Lambeth council or the hospital whoever it is, are preying on patients particularly those with new borns. The answer they have is get public transport, yeah right, dream on, not with all of this equipment.

So I was there 3.5 hours of course I get a parking ticket I'm not paying them a penny, they can do one.

I also would advise the hospital YOU should give your STAFF safe and priority parking spaces. You don't and that's appalling.

Dangerous, patronising and complacent treatment in my case, along with extremely poor communication. Medic centred rather than patient centred. My experience was so bad that I've asked my urgent, life saving operation be transferred to another London hospital, despite the risk. I think that says it all. Just remember you have a legal right to be treated at a hospital of your choice and look at various rankings before you decide. King's performs badly by both international and UK standards. Choose carefully. I came in for an outpatient CT scan but was given a drug that led to me being admitted for a week. Of course I was met with denial. The doctors were more interested in covering their arses than compassionate treatment. Extremely poor.

I was admitted as a day patient to the Cardiac Catheterisation Unit for an angiogram. The staff, doctors, nurses and receptionist were so lovely. They were very efficient and caring and I could not fault my treatment, care and the cleanliness of this unit. Thank you to everyone
