I spent the entire day there because there was no courtesy car. The car was always in my line of sight; after seeing it at the same location from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for several hours, a mechanic unexpectedly arrived to service it; within one hour, the car was ready ( supposed a full mayor service )
They sent me a video of what they did to the car and told me that the car (tyres were fine and the gearbox was leaking), which was an explanation of what was wrong and that I needed to arrange another appointment for a full day of investigation.
Looking at the automobile, they just replaced the windshield wipers in the front, however they neglected the rear wipers despite my request.
1st, Arden servicing wanted to charge me £2105 instead of the £1350.00 previously quoted and claimed quote paperwork could not be found.
Only to find the repair quoted and carried out by Arden serving was in all probability not the problem at all.
The real problem found I was then quoted a special deal of an additional £300.00.
In the end they done a partial repair free of charge, I assume in the hope i would go away quietly.
I should consider myself having gotten off lightly, if I had rolled over and had my tummy ticked by some of the BS I was feed I would have paid over 2.4k for a £300.00 repair.
Staff carrying out routine servicing on my 330e PHEV refused to give me back my 3rd party, aftermarket charging cable, saying I could not have it (presumably because they destroyed it) as part of a BMW recall. I purchased the cable after buying the car from another dealer, therefor the cable was my own property. After explaining this they still tried to tell me I couldn't have my own property back, waiting for confirmation from their "Technical Dept" to tell me "the cable you purchased is indeed your property"! They then offered store credit until further pushing from me for a full refund for my own cable. Throughout the whole ordeal there was no apology offered and no explanation (or confession) of why I couldn't have my own cable back. Also after selecting the complementary valet service this wasn't completed despite being originally told the work package would take 2.5hrs (in their fast track option) and in reality getting the car back after nearly 5 hours.
I'll never use this dealer again and will be actively recommending others don't either.
Always used this dealer for 10+ years while driving lease BMW's as company cars with service packs, and always had good service from them.
I now own and finance my own BMW and have wanted to carry on using this dealer as I've never had any issues with them and would also rather a main BMW dealer maintain my BMW than anyone else. However, they're so expensive and prevents me from using them.
Quoted me over £200 to replace a fog light. I purchased one online for £60 and fitted it myself.
They also charged me £100 just to investigate a fault which they then quoted me £650 to fix, as it was very "labour intensive". A local independent BMW specialist did the work for me in less than 2 hours for just over £200 inc VAT. (£52 for the part and £125 labour).
I would rather use a main BMW dealer, but cant justify paying an extra £450 for them to do it which is a shame, but guess that is BMW for you?!
After this particular and pointing out of a specific area of problems- a year later I still have the same issue... my car became incredibly dangerous to drive (because the battery was running flat and electrics failing- including brake systems) and all it needed was a battery check.
This was not sorted.
