I would like to say, it was a pleasure - but it wasn't! Okay, appointment made eye test completed and the date given to collect my glasses. However the day of collection hours prior to the appointment, one of the staff called me to not collect today(as the glasses were not yet ready ) but to come in on Saturday.... Today I spent over 30 minutes waiting whilst a very helpful and friendly staff member rifled through dozens of awaiting glasses.... Alas, even with her tenacious spirit she could not conjure up the item, even though she could not understand why..... In the end 45 in total, she informed me to return on Sunday... No of course not... They don't open on Sundays, but Wednesday (apparently to save any disappointment of coming in Monday or Tuesday) are you for real? 🤔? Boots it's okay.... I should have followed the ads and gone to Spec Savers glasses 👓

It's easy to understand rating of the Boots Optician in Croydon. I went there last week to fit my glasses better on my ears, and they broke them!... they give me a discount if I buy new glasses; well 8 days later I'm still waiting for the call to book the appointment... I don't recommend it at all.

Complaining as an eye test I had 2 months ago was completely incorrect compared to a recent eye test I had a week ago. I had a gut instinct that the optician wasn’t paying attention - even after waiting 30+ minutes. Awful service, clearly don’t care to get it correct. Rubbish.

I escorted my other half here for her eye test. She said the optician Amaka and the staff members who attended to her Nikki & Hazel were brilliant in the care she received. Everything she needed to know was explained thoroughly and in an unhurried manner. Thank you ever so much.

These guys do not pick up their calls. I need my prescription as I've recently moved. I'm not surprised though, when I attended an appointment the staff were subsequently walking pass the handset which was ringing constantly. They lack a lot of integrity, when dealing with customers, they only do the bare minimum appointments.

I received appalling disability discrimination upon my arrival when, as their welcoming statement a young assistant, possibly teenager said to me, are you genuinely entitled to wear that mask exemption tag for disabled? We know everybody wearing them is lying!" I asked this very young person if she had been trained to approach clients in this manner and if she was aware she had committed an offense under the 2010 Equalities act? She disagreed stating that the 2010 equalities act doesn't apply in Boots Chemist.

Before long the trainee had me surrounded by senior colleagues supporting her, all berating me for not wearing a mask and humiliating me for having a registered disability. They also engaged the support of the waiting customers to back them up. They were all raising their voices preventing me from talking while I remained calm trying to state my case sticking to the facts of the law which they clearly did not agree with.

I definitely didn't feel safe in Boots and there is no way I would, following such an appalling experience, trust their trainee to test my eyes and I suggest everybody boycott BOOTS Chemist for extreme prejudice against people with disabilities.

I've just been to Vision Express for an eye test and on the basis of their advice, purchased glasses. They were, throughout my visit, lovely, thoroughly polite, welcoming and accommodating people. Boots only gets a single star from me because it was the only way to submit the post otherwise they'd get no stars. This company deserves to be closed down for deliberately humiliating people with disabilities.

Honestly I've been with them for YEARS, and still no improvement in their services. To summarise, there is never anyone at the front desk reception to answer your enquiries you just have to wait for someone to appear. They also messed up my contact lense prescription twice and didn't phone me to confirm my replacement lense was in store. When I arrived they couldn't find it and I had to leave, they called me when I got home telling me they found it an hour later in the WRONG PRESCRIPTION and they would have to order it again. They couldn't even mail it to me when I said I didn't want to come in again. It's a joke, please go to Specsavers or another branch where they can at least get your prescription right.

I been booking an appointment for contact lenses when I get there, they say I’m not in the system for any appointments even that I show them the message and the email with the booking confirmation, after that they told me to wait for about 1 hour for no reason , so they book me for another appointment the lady who is been booking me instead of November she did in December 😒, after all I didn’t receive any confirmation of that booking, and they don’t respond to any of my calls, awful. I end up with no appointment after all. Never going back.
